At emetriq, data protection and privacy are paramount.

We take all measures necessary to safeguard the anonymity of data that is accessible to us. In other words, we do not store IP addresses or any “personal data” (names, addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth) within the meaning of section 3 of the German Federal Data Protection Act.

Our objective is to make online advertising more relevant for Internet users by ensuring that advertising content is displayed to the correct audiences, as determined by intelligent prediction. This also means that we endeavour to avoid irrelevant advertising. The key to all of this is optimized delivery of online advertising by marketers and advertisers based on high-quality data. emetriq is in the business of capturing this data.

At emetriq, we capture data on the surfing behaviour of Internet users whose identities are and remain unknown to us. For example, we capture data on the pages and products users view in the online shops of our cooperation partners. To this stored information we assign an anonymous, multiple-digit identification number which is then stored in a cookie on the user’s computer and which does not contain any information capable of being used to determine the identity of the user. Moreover, we aggregate this data into data sets associated with at least 30 users so that it is impossible to attribute specific data to any one individual. Nor is it possible for emetriq to deduce the identity of any user by matching various items of data it has on file.

If you have any questions regarding data protection and privacy at emetriq, do not hesitate to contact us: dataprivacy@emetriq.com.

Use of data by our partners

The aggregated data from the data pool are used collaboratively by emetriq’s stringently selected partners. Each partner bears sole responsibility for its own use of the anonymised data. The partners are not permitted to use the data beyond the explicitly permitted scope of use, nor are they permitted to make it accessible to third parties, or to use it for unlawful purposes, spam, or in a manner which infringes the rights of third parties. Furthermore, they are not permitted to use the data for advertising messages and/or advertising offerings or similar which are unfair or otherwise offend against applicable laws, or which contain salacious, objectionable, immoral, obscene, racist or defamatory content, or which are likely to incite or promote racism, fanaticism, hatred, physical violence or unlawful acts. Each of our partners has a legal obligation to ensure that it does not capture any data from websites which contain unlawful content. This prohibition encompasses, in particular, content which incites or is likely to incite to hatred or violence against segments of the population, or which incites to criminal acts or glorifies or trivialises violence. It also encompasses content which is sexually objectionable or pornographic in a manner relevant under criminal law, particularly content which is likely to severely morally endanger children or young people or impair their well-being.
